Introducing… the inaugural One PlayGround Festival!

Join us this weekend, June 2-4, for the inaugural One PlayGround Festival, a special multi-day festival and conference, celebrating the national PlayGround community (SF, LA, NYC and Chicago), featuring artist panels, workshops, and performances, live at Potrero Stage and simulcast! For more information or to register for festival/conference events, click here.

The festival kicks off this Friday, June 2, at 7pm PDT with a Producers Roundtable, in discussion regarding the state of the field, PlayGround’s year-in-review and a look to the future, followed immediately by a Playwrights Slam, with PlayGround playwrights reading excerpts from their newest works.

On Saturday, June 3, we’re offering three 2-hour Artist Workshops (playwrights at 10am, actors at 12pm, and directors at 2pm), exploring the PlayGround methodology and tips for success. The evening concludes with a special one-night presentation of the Best of the Best of PlayGround, featuring four short works drawn from this year’s Best of programs in San Francisco, Los Angeles, New York and Chicago — TOMATO TATTOO by Rammel Chan, GALLOWS HUMOR by Bridgettde Dutta Portman, THE HOLIDAY PARTY by Gaven D. Trinidad, and WATERMELON LOVE by M.J. Kang — and performed live by a national cast of PlayGrounders. Online tickets are free (donations welcome) and in-person tickets are available on a suggested donation sliding scale ($11-$31).
