DIRECTOR OF INDIVIDUAL GIVING
PlayGround is seeking candidates for a new year-round half-time position ($35/hr) of Director of Individual Giving. This position, working in tandem with the Artistic Director and Director of Development, will be responsible for the development, management, implementation, and evaluation of individual fund-raising efforts consistent with PlayGround’s needs and goals. This will include: annual appeals, performance-related donations, major gift cultivation and stewardship, fundraising events, multi-year campaigns, planned giving, and such other fundraising duties as may be assigned by PlayGround’s Artistic Director and Director of Development. Total individual giving goal for FY27 is $193k. Candidates should have direct experience cultivating and stewarding major donors, designing/implementing donation campaigns, and planning/executing fundraising events, or applicable related experiences. Position is open immediately and priority will be given to applications received on or before September 15, 2026.

The 2026-27 Directing Apprenticeship application is closed. Applications for the 2027-28 Directing Apprenticeships will open in April 2027.
PRODUCING FELLOWSHIPS
Applications for the 2026-27 Producing Fellowships are closed. Applications for 2027-28 Producing Fellowships will open in March 2027. The PlayGround Producing Fellowship is designed to foster the next generation of leadership for the American Theatre. We are looking for individuals passionate about theatre and looking to make an impact on the field while developing the skill set to do so for a living. Candidates must reside in one of the four PlayGround regions (LA, SF, NY, or Chicago). Four (4) fellows will be selected with one (1) drawn from each of the four (4) PlayGround regions. Particularly, in filling these roles, we will give weight and priority to BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, and disabled applicants with the hope of employing diverse voices who can continue to hone their producing skills in a collaborative environment.
ACTORS
PlayGround invites Bay Area-based actors (union or non-union) to submit headshots, resumes and optional links to a recorded monologue for consideration in our 2024-25 acting pool for the monthly Monday Night PlayGround series. BIPOC, trans/gender non-conforming, Deaf/Hoh, Disabled, Neurodiverse and actors of all ages encouraged. Online submissions are accepted and reviewed year-round.
DESIGNERS
PlayGround has on-going and immediate openings for fee-based designers for the Festival of New Works. Fee is $750-$1250 (depending on position). To be added to our designer database and considered for current and/or future design opportunities, please fill out this google form.
BOX OFFICE STAFF
PlayGround is looking for part-time Box Office Staff to run in-person box office and front-of-house for PlayGround activity throughout the year, including multi-week projects (mostly weekends) at Potrero Stage. Responsibilities include management of will-call and computerized ticketing (Theatre Manager) for walk-up sales, some light phone and email, and general house management duties. Salary is $21/hr. STAGE MANAGERS
