PlayGround is part of an amazing community of artists—playwrights, directors, actors, designers—and audiences who come to support the very best that Bay Area theatre has to offer. The 28th annual PlayGround Festival of New Works, May 7-26, 2024 in-person at Potrero Stage and simulcast, is a celebration of all that PlayGround artists have accomplished over the year, and a chance to showcase their remarkable talents with you.

Our artists depend on support from community members like you, to champion their artistry and contribute to a healthy and thriving theatre ecosystem. For a donation of $100 or more, you can support over 100 artists and 16 unique new works of theatre by some of the nation’s most promising new playwrights.

Young Playwrights Project: Short plays written by Bay Area high school students, fully staged by professional actors & directors. This year explores the topic “The Legacy of the Land We Inhabit”
Festival Staged Readings: Four bold new plays in development by some of the Bay Area’s most promising new writers, and the source of our future festival premieres
