_________
Pablo lightly howls from off stage.
LOBO
Como te llamas? Your howl is superb.
Las mujeres are scarce, I give you my word.
I’m lonely. I’m hungry. I yearn for your love.
I’m macho, que lindo, I’m sweet as a dove.
Pablo lightly howls from off stage.
LOBO
Mi corazón where are you? Bbbbbaby please.
Your howling is cunning it is but a tease.
I’m ready for you. I cannot say no.
Andale, I’m a Mexicano Lobo.
Lobo howls and moves about excitedly. Pablo enters howling.
PABLO
Orale, muchacho, so you like my voice?
I gave it a quiver. It was a bold choice.
I play little jokes. I mean you no harm.
I’m looking for Lola, so sound the alarm.
Pablo gives out a low howls and struts.
LOBO
Wait a damn minute, who the hell are you?
I’m looking for Lola and there’s no room for two!
PABLO
I’m your competition, esé, so suave; so fly.
I live by the river, I’m that kinda guy.
LOBO
Oh, you’re that kinda guy, huh? So cease and desist!
I’m in it for love, hombre, amor will persist.
PABLO
Then we’re going to have to fight, probably to your death.
I’ll rip your hair out! I’ll bite your damn neck!
Pablo and Lobo start to circle.
LOBO
Cabron, pinche lobo, te voy a lastimar
And when I am done with you, I’ll leave a big scar.
Lobo and Pablo howl and circle. Pablo stops for a moment.
PABLO
Can we make up some rules? It really will help.
I’ve got a bad back but a very nice pelt.
I am but a weak wolf. I’m not very strong.
I talk a good game. I sing quite a song.
LOBO
Vamos a pelear! There are no rules aqui.
But kicking your culo is going to satisfy me.
Pablo grabs Lobo and instantly gets him in a hold on the ground. Pablo bites Lobo’s neck and Lobo howls. They scuffle until Lobo finally breaks free whimpering.
Pablo
I told you damn fool; I’d bite your damn neck.
I live by the river what did you expect?
I don’t play by the rules. I make that shit up.
I’m a cholo lobo so shut the hell up.
