PlayGround Hosts May 1 Potrero Stagers Digital Launch Party

PlayGround and the Potrero Stage community will celebrate the launch of the new POTRERO STAGERS membership program with a free digital launch party and evening of performances on Saturday, May 1, 7pm-8:15pm PDT via Zoom livestream. Co-hosted by beloved local performers Marga Gomez and Liam Vincent, the event will feature short performances by more than a dozen artists and companies, including: Diane M. Barnes (“Not One of Us”), Rayshawn Chism (“Beethoven and Misfortune Cookies”), Chris Steele AKA Polly Amber Ross (“The Bride”), Analog Theatre, The Chikahan Company, The Forum Collective, The Moonrisers, PlayGround, Poltergeist Theatre Project, Theatre Cultura, and more! PlayGround, California’s leading playwright incubator, provides unique development opportunities for the Bay Area’s (and now Los Angeles’) best new playwrights, including the monthly Monday Night PlayGround staged reading series, annual PlayGround Festival of New Works, full-length play commissions and support for the production of new plays by local playwrights through the New Play Production Fund. To date, PlayGround has supported over 200 early career playwrights, developing and staging more than 950 of their original short plays through the Monday Night PlayGround staged reading series and the PlayGround Festival.
