PlayGround IN2 company Analog Theatre (co-led by Rebecca Pingree and Elissa Beth Stebbins) will close their 2022 season with a Halloween Mask Monday! Come join the mayhem at Standard Deviant Brewing in SF for award-winning beer and promisingly-unfinished physical theatre. Featuring a bevy of local artists, including PlayGround company members Jed Parsario and Rebecca Pingree. October 31st, doors at 7:30, shenanigans at 8pm, show always free to the public. Annette Amelia Oliveira‘s audiobook efforts led to two wonderful gigs published by Penguin Random House Audio in late May. NERUDA ON THE PARK focuses on a Dominican family facing gentrification of their New York City neighborhood. A layered portrait of family, friendship and ambition, it’s told by three characters: the daughter, the Mom and a chorus of old ladies. Annette narrates the Mom’s tale. Isabel Anne To (newly Torres!) will be performing in Killing My Lobster’s Halloween show: “Freddy Kruger’s Day Off”, an 80’s horror and teen comedy mashup that’s spookier than Reaganomics! The show performs at the EXIT Theatre Oct. 6-29, Thu-Sat at 8pm. There will be a signature cocktail and a different themed event every weekend! Come see the all-femme cast channel their inner Final Girl, and help say farewell with one of the last shows at the EXIT before they close their doors….for now.
Cindy Goldfield is currently enjoying a month off after her last show, before starting rehearsal for her 17th season of A Christmas Carol at ACT.
Eric Fraisher Hayes will be directing two Eugene O’Neill plays (Welded and Shell Shock) in Ireland in October for the Eugene International Festival of Theatre.
Patrick Russell recently directed an original series of one act plays entitled Unbelievable for The Minnesota Fringe Festival and worked on the feature film, Moss Beach. He is also currently preparing to direct Sarah Ruhl’s Eurydice for the Department of Theater Dance and Performance Studies at UC Berkeley.
Bridgette Dutta Portman‘s short sci-fi horror play CALL OF THE VOID will have a staged reading with Center for the Performing Arts Bonita Springs, FL, on October 7, 2022.
