Ross Peter Nelson will have two works in Montana’s Last Chance New Play Fest this November. His ten-minute play “Who is Joe Hill” will appear with other short works in Montana Short Cuts, and on Nov 9., his latest full-length, “Saint J”, will be presented as a staged reading with audience talkback.  Cherielyn Ferguson‘s short play, An Afternoon’s Enjoyment, will be part of the 5th Annual Veterans 10-Minute Play Festival at Salem State University, which runs November 9 – 11 in Salem, MA. The festival uses theatre to begin a community conversation that builds bridges between the civilian and military worlds. An Afternoon’s Enjoyment was written in response to PlayGround’s January 2023 prompt “Resolution”. More info here

Champagne Hughes will be performing (NO MORE) adjustments on November 4th at 2PM which invites audiences to witness a Black, queer, neurodivergent woman’s journey of self-discovery. She will pair therapeutic techniques with real-life experiences to tell stories of navigating both artistic and academic spaces. 

Patrick Russell is directing Stupid F***ing Bird at SF State which runs Nov. 9th thru 18th and is in preparation to direct She Kills Monsters there in the spring. Get your tickets here!

Jennifer King is directing the world premiere of Holiday Happenings (working title) at Napa Valley College. She is also producing Es Una Vida Maravillosa, a new play by Aisha Rivera for Shakespeare Napa Valley. Both works open Dec 1.

 Lizzie Calogero is helping to produce ENOUGH! Plays to End Gun Violence, at the SF Mime Troupe on November 6. Featuring Playground members L Duarte and Rudy Guerrero, ENOUGH is a nationwide theater initiative that calls on teens to confront gun violence by creating new works of theater. The evening showcases six 10-minute plays (sound familiar?) chosen from hundreds written by young people nationwide and is part of a series of readings happening simultaneously across the country. Michael Barrett Austin will be returning to the role of Scrooge’s nephew Fred in Center Rep’s annual production of ‘A Christmas Carol’ at the Lesher Center for the Arts in Walnut Creek this December.

Kimberly Ridgeway will be directing MISERY at Palo Alto Players: January 19 – February 4, 2024. Info!

Rebecca Pingree is currently playing Sulla/Alquist in Rossum’s Universal Robots at Cutting Ball, which just extended to Nov 19!
