Isabel Anne To is honored to be performing alongside Rosie Hallett in Rachel Bublitz’s FUNNY, LIKE AN ABORTION, directed by Giovanna Sardelli. The play is more relevant than ever, a call to action to fight for Roe v. Wade and reproductive rights. It will perform as part of the PlayGround New Works Festival, on Sat. May 28 and Sun. May 29. Immediately after, Isabel will be performing in Killing My Lobster’s upcoming sex-positive sketch comedy show, LET’S DO THE SEX, which performs June 2-11 at Pianofight SF, (tickets here) and June 16-25 at Pianofight Oakland (tickets here). Isabel is grateful to the universe and amazing casting directors for sending her these two shows, and hopes you will check at least one of them out!
Maury Zeff’s short story collection is a finalist for the Acacia Fiction Prize from Kallisto Gaia Press (winner to be announced in July). He is also looking forward to attending The National Playwrights Symposium in Cape May, NJ this month, featuring teaching artists Marsha Norman and Stephen Adly Guirgis.
Jonathan Spector’s play EUREKA DAY will have a run at Asolo Rep in Florida May 11 – June 4.
Eric Fraisher Hayes will be taking the original play Into Night to Boston in July where it will be a featured event at the Eugene O’Neill International Conference. Learn more here.

Cindy Goldfield just came off a successful (Covid-free!) run of FEFU AND HER FRIENDS at ACT, with a fantastic group of local women. She is looking forward to starting rehearsal for FOLLIES at SF Playhouse.

Rachel Bublitz is thrilled to have her play BURST named as a finalist for National New Play Network’s 2022 Showcase. BURST had a reading with PlayGround’s 2020 Zoomfest, and later this month will join the line-up for Relative Theatric’s Playwrights Voiced Festival. FUNNY, LIKE AN ABORTION, currently in PlayGround’s 2022 Festival, was named a semi-finalist for Playwrights Foundation’s Bay Area Playwrights Festival.
Madeline Puccioni‘s short play, THE SATURDAY NIGHTERS, about Harlem Renaissance playwright Georgia Douglas Johnson and her Anti Lynching play, And Yet They Paused, will have a full production at B3 theater in Scottsdale Arizona in June. Learn more here.

Alanna McFall was thrilled to participate in the Futurescapes Writer’s Workshop at the beginning of May. She worked with agents, editors, and other authors to exchanges critique and feedback on the first draft of her next novel, the potential follow-up to her debut, “The Traveling Triple-C Incorporeal Circus”.
Mary Baird successfully stage a benefit reading of THE VAGINA MONOLOGUES for Community Beyond Violence. Very proudly was a reader in WORD FOR WORD & The Actors’ Reading Collective benefit for Humanitarian Aid to Ukraine.

Tom Bruett’s play, THE NESTING INSTINCT, that was developed and commissioned through Playground and Planet Earth Arts has been selected for the new play festival Playwrights Voiced at Relative Theatrics in Laramie, WY. Norman Gee has been onstage recently in WATER BY THE SPOONFUL at SF Playhouse and GREAT EXPECTATIONS at San Jose Stage. He performs next May 9th in IMOGEN SAYS NOTHING w/ SF Shakes, and will be directing COMPARED TO WHAT by local playwright Judith Offer at the Masquers Playhouse this August 2022. Learn more here.
