Robert Sicular is proud to appear in an episodic reading of Shakespeare’s “Troilus and Cressida” presented by The Humanities Institute and Shakespeare Santa Cruz. This free event (registration required) will explore one of Shakespeare’s most problematic and fascinating plays. Readings will be at 6:30 on three consecutive Wednesdays: 6/9, 6/16 and 6/23, for one hour, to be followed by an hour’s discussion.
Stacy Ross is currently appearing in ‘Communion’ at A.C.T. – a live Zoom show which runs through June 27th. Check it out at act-sf.org.
Tessa Corrie is thrilled to have directed Eteya Trinidad’s La Planchada in Best Of 25 and is moving onto her next projects with The Playwright’s Center of San Francisco. Catch her work in their 2021 PlayOffs next month! The recorded plays will be showing on July 11, 18, and 25th at 2pm and 4pm.
Madeline Puccioni & Madeleine Butler: The Madel(e)ines are in the PlayOffs! Mark your calendars! Madeline Puccioni’s 79 NORTH and Madeleine Butler’s POSSESSED FOR SUCCESS have been selected for Playwright Center SF’s PlayOff Festival and need your votes! If they win the most votes for their respective shows, their plays will advance to the Best of PlayOffs show in November. It’s a big deal. Madeline Puccioni’s play will zoom live at 4 pm on July 18, and Madeleine Butler’s play will zoom live at 4 pm July 25. Ross Peter Nelson has just announced the creation of Raven’s Feather Productions, a new theatre company in Helena, Montana. The first show will be Grounded by George Brand, and is scheduled for Feb 2022.
Danielle Levin anticipates completing her MFA in Dramatic Art from UC Davis next week. For her thesis she wrote, produced, and performed a play called _Whole Cloth_, which examines history, legacy, and identity as debated by her, her great-grandmother, and S. Ansky, author of the play and 1937 screenplay _The Dybbuk_.
Michael Barrett Austin recently had a tremendously fun time portraying King Arthur in ‘Curry and Crumpets’ for the Best of PlayGround 25, and that and the two commercials he recently shot for Spin Bikes and Energy Concepts has him hopeful that this pandemic is nearly behind us!
Meghan Maugeri and her husband are celebrating the birth of a happy and healthy baby boy! River Angelo Fyffe was born on April 29th!
Stephanie Prentice is happy to begin her second term on the PlayGround Board, and is also excited to become the Patron Services Manager for TheatreFirst under new Artistic Director, Brendan Simon.
