PlayGround is part of an amazing community of artists—playwrights, directors, actors, designers—and audiences who come to support the very best that Bay Area theatre has to offer. The 27th annual PlayGround Festival of New Works, which will take place May 8-28, 2023 in-person at Potrero Stage and simulcast, is a celebration of all that PlayGround artists have accomplished over the year, and a chance to showcase their remarkable talents with you.
Our artists depend on support from community members like you, to champion their artistry and contribute to a healthy and thriving theater ecosystem. We hope you will join us in supporting working artists by becoming a PlayGround Festival Sponsor. For a donation of $100 or more, you can support over 100 artists and 16 unique new works of theatre by some of the nation’s most promising new playwrights.
As a PlayGround Festival Sponsor, you will receive automatic reservations to all live streaming festival performances with extended on-demand access thru June 30, and priority seating for all events you choose to attend in-person. This includes access to the premieres of Starlight by Christian Wilburn, The Bramford by Lauren Gorski, as well as Best of PlayGround 27. Other festival offerings include the Young Playwrights Project, and our Festival Staged Readings featuring four bold new plays in development by some of the Bay Area’s most promising new writers. All Festival Sponsors will be acknowledged in our Festival digital playbill, and will receive a complimentary Potrero Stage baseball cap and PlayGround Festival poster.
